Feng Shui Leaders Welcome You!

The beat of the Shaman's drum, the sound of sacred ritual, the inspiration of heightened consciousness from sparks of people joining together to establish a new integrated model of living. All this and much more is offered in San Diego this summer at the 6th International Feng Shui Conference. The five-day meeting, August 5th-7th, with pre and post conferences Aug 4th-8th, will be held at the Hilton San Diego Resort, a location rich in outdoor ambiance. Feng Shui is a least 3000 years old, yet it has been hailed as the environmental science of the 21st Century.

The conference has open registration. The vendor area will be free to the public. An estimated 400 participants, many from San Diego, will join with travelers from around the world in the most exciting content-rich program to come to San Diego since the 80¹s. At that time, San Diego was birthplace to the Mandala conferences that set the tone for the holistic health movement.

The unifying energetic principles behind the conference have already made inroads into the fields of real estate and health design. Builders are using these principles to design new hospitals. Investors realize that homes with these unifying principles are top market sellers. This conference will define careers many of us will be having 20 years from now.

Australia's most famous eco-architect and environmental pioneer, Gareth Cole, as well as 59 other innovators are coming to join with us from around the world.

He will discuss building materials for low-toxic houses and demonstrate 5 principles used in planning energy efficient, healthy homes. These principles are now a policy that won a national energy management award. Over 74 councils now use this policy in Australia.

According to Roger Green, conference developer, "Feng Shui has been a way of life in the orient. It is both a science and an art that has influenced the shape of Chinese cities, palaces, villages. Feng Shui is the study of the Heavens and the study of Earth in relation to humans. A healthy relationship with the environment is essential for our health and prosperity."

Feng Shui is now an umbrella word that encompasses an emerging model of healing. It takes the body-mind-spirit model to depths of vital energy flows, as well as outward into areas of food production, health awareness, eco-architecture,and design.

"Practicing Feng Shui involves a simple shift of attitude towards an earth-friendly cosmology that serves life. Working together necessitates a vision of individual, communal, societal and global harmony. This vision is of a world sustained by sensitivity, intelligence and respect for all beings. We aim at this conference to encourage collaborative learning through the exploration and integration of all the living design and healing arts,³ said Green.

"In my constant travels, I have met the world leaders who are masterful teachers in the areas of Feng Shui for business, real estate, your home, your life; ecological designs to save the planet, award winning cutting-edge architects, masters of permaculture and sustainable designs. In sacred geometry, we find a way to see the fabric of the universe. At the conference you can learn about Taoist healing arts, clearing space,and geomancy. Other topics will be permaculture, ecological architecture, and vedic math, and shamanism. Some of these subjects have yet to reach popular awareness. After this conference many more people will know about them. These are studies needed now to reinvent our lives.²

This conference has the seeds for that kind of reawakening," said Leslie Goldman, one of the conference presenters, who is known internationally as Your Enchanted Gardener. She will teach how to access the alchemical power of sound for transmutation of earth energies, reduction of pollution, earthquake activity, and more. She helped create a global grassroots pollution -clearing network in over 25 cities.

"Creating sacred space is a priority in our times. From a simple home altar to whole cities, we can re-create sacred environments." said Alex Stark, another presenter.

Michael Borden will teach Vastu science from India. "Architecture is frozen music. A building can be designed in harmonic resonance with the underlying energy structure of the universe,²"he said.

"Each of us has the ability to consciously create a home that honors and reflects our sacred connection with Heaven and Earth... a sacred space where synchronicity, joy, and wellness are magnetically held in place," said Terah Kathryn Collins, who will teach "Soulful Surroundings."

A Celebration of Organic Foods at the Hilton--Featuring an array of Locally Grown Organic foods from San Diego organic farms, as well as Natural Food Products with "Heart and Soul," will be featured in Menu offerings at the International August 5-7, 2005, at the International Feng Shui Conference. Hermann Schaefer, Executive Chef at the Hilton San Diego Resort, known for introducing unique culinary concepts to the full service resort and spa, will partner with San Diego¹s Leslie Goldman, Enchanted Gardener, to link some of the freshest and finest locally grown organic foods with the Hilton's Bayside Terrace Grille Restaurant. Menu ingredients during the International Feng Shui Conference will also feature "Heart and Soul" Enchanted Garden Award Winning Organic food products. Goldman, who teaches that "Not knowing who is growing your food is like being intimate with a stranger" specializes in cultivating friendships with San Diego organic farmers at his local Farmers' Market. A regular participant in the Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, CA held each March, Goldman, in his role as Enchanted Gardener, seeks out and honors Natural Food Industry products that he esteems for not only their outstanding quality, but are because they are backed by producers whose products reflect the Heart and Soul of their creators. The Rodriguez family of organic growers, fourth generation San Diego farms, grows six kinds of lettuce and various greens. They will be growing foods specifically for the International gathering. Breakfast menus will also include red, orange, and yellow organically grown watermelons grown by Farmers' Market vendor, Dennis Stowell. He will his "out of the box" heirloom tomatoes varieties that are seldom seen in health food stores. "When I grow foods, I am more concerned with nutrition per acre than production per acre.," says Stowell. Joe Rodriquez, Jr. the grower of the greens, is the inspiration behind Goldman's children's story "Joe the Farmer," about a local farmer "Who never gave up no matter what." According to Rodriquez, it is increasingly difficult in this age of rising water costs and land use policies for organic farmers to bring their products to market. Many resort to the Farmers' Markets. Many foods at the Farmers" Market do not enter the warehouse system. Most commercial Supermarkets, as well as Health Food store chains have not yet figured out systems to deliver these "out of the box"foods to consumers.

Many Farmers' Market foods are of therapeutic value, says Goldman. "These foods are so fresh they do not know they have been picked yet." he says. Among the Heart and Soul products that will be featured at the Hilton are Jesse Schwartz¹s sesame butters from Living Tree Community Foods; and Vivian Straus's ice creams and organic butter.
