The Essenes and the Rekindling of the American Dream To speak of the Essenes is to speak of a Soul Group activity.  It is to speak of Lemuria, a time when souls lived in harmony with the earth and cosmic forces. Amanda and Christa garden in our backyard, March 2004. if we attempt to understand the Essenes as history sees  them, or label Essene consciousness with limited words embroiled in controversies that have crucified love since the beginning of recorded and unrecorded history, we will be forever lost as much as any person or belief system can see the world through broken eyes. We will never come to terms with something--a path of growth-- as simple as the way a seed is intended to grow. An Essene is a Gardener, an Enchanted Gardener, and the Essene  Wholistic Healing Model is essentially about gardening seeds, planting Seed Dreams, and freeing the narrow places in us that become the cracks in our lives and in the world. These cracks keep us thrown out of the Promised Land. The Promise is Peace on Earth. The Promised Land is the Enchanted Garden; The Enchanted Garden is as much a place in time and space as a state of unbroken wholeness in flowing movement.  The Enchanted Garden is the consciousness is the consciousness where the Tree of Life grows.    The place peace begins is inside us, in our own backyard having such things around us. Living from a place of labels, and in packages kills the soul. We are here to live-- to live passionately-- sensually as Souls-- in the garden. Start with a seed-- your own. Make friends with other seeds-- many other garden seeds-- Remember how to live through the lessons that come up through the very intimate, tantric inner activity between us that brings more and more Life into you. The Essene is a Way, not a religion, though the mantle of this way is expressed through the lives of Souls and Hearts who have lived for 8000 years or more recording natural wisdow, and gotten themselves  born into a lot of places and religions where the messages that needed to be said could be said.  They got into a heck of a lot of trouble throught being fully human. The Earth and the Soul are soilmates. Feel this--come to terms with this-- through your toes touching dark, rich soil, and compost made fertile by earthworms. Do this and the essence of what it is to be an Essene will be revealed to you.  We will never understand what it is to be an Essene without having a garden pots to grow from, and garden space deeper than the cement that can define us. Tear open a package of heirloom seeds. Watch your seeds grow. Glory as they turn into plants. Grow Seeds into grasses that have been here longer than we know. Get the feel of the juices of grasses that tingle and cool your face. Relish in plants that become you through eating them. Have trees around you that speak through aromas that can change your world in 15 seconds. Know that the growth of all these seeds and trees are an expression of All Our personal growth. This is the Cult of the Mother, as the Gardener of Old called it, and it is the Essence of true Culture bonded with Mother Earth. Return to her.  Return to the Mother. I was ordained a minister by Edmond Bordeaux Szekely, the 2oth Century Essene renaissance pioneer. the co-creator of a number of health spas.   One of his most exciting unfinished projects was the creation of a hilly place called Mille Meditation. I visited there following an  Essene Seminar with the Professor in 1977. Every thirty feet or so, along a hilly mountaneous trail, there was an Altar to a different great spiritual tradition--the mountain itself was represented a convergence of 8000 years of nature wisdom and indigenous culture as express through many paths. Mille Meditation was essential an expression of an Essene mind in syn with Soul--and expresses my sense of the Essene Way. The Altars were Touchstones of consciousness inspired by Souls who left their mark on humanity. There was something Essene and essential about about each of them. As Szekely taught, if you sat all these pioneering Souls at one table and had them express themselves, you would have a peaceful expression. If you had their followings sit, you would not have peace. The Essenes Soul Group shows up at various moments in history and various places where a consciousness is of wholeness is being asked to express. The Essenes leave their mark. You will find them in their remnants and residues that limited consciousness have defined as various religious paths. They were a path of renewal that showed up and continues to show up. The name is the thing, the name is not the thing. Are you an Essene? Do you consider yourself Jewish? Then the Essenes are Jewish. Do you consider yourself Christian? Are you an Essene? The Essenes are Christian. Are you a Vegetarian and an Essene.  If so, the Essenes are Vegetarian. We define the world by who we are and what we do.
