Shanti Golds has dedicated her life to love, service and devotion. She shares what she considers a Trinity of Wisdom—Kali Ray Tri Yoga®, aromatherapy and living foods. She offers this holistic Trinity as the Director of Yoga and Guest Services at the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center in Patagonia, Arizona. The depth of her experience in the spiritual and healing arts, along with her compassionate presence, inspires and illuminates the lives of all those she serves.
Shanti is a senior teacher of Kali Ray Tri Yoga®, a kundalini-inspired flowing form of hatha yoga. When she was thirteen years old in her native New Zealand, she was introduced to the practice of yoga and immediately knew that she would eventually become a yogini. When she began her study of yoga at the age of nineteen she was not only inspired by the postures but she was captivated by yogic philosophy of which she has made a life-long study. Five years into her practice of yoga, at the age of twenty four, she met her teacher, Kali Ray, with whom she would spend the next 16 years living, learning, training, meditating and teaching. Teaching as a Senior Teacher at the Kali Ray Tri Yoga headquarters in Santa Cruz, California for 14 years. During this time, she lived as a devoted yogini with Kali Ray cultivating her awareness of the Devi energy, the Divine Presence. Shanti’s direct personal insight of the Divine Flow is manifested in her gifted teaching of the effortless flow of postures in Kali Ray Tri Yoga® and her joyful embodiment of yoga on and off the mat.
Shanti’s passion for a holistic way of life, healing and spiritual illumination lead her to the art, science and spirit of aromatherapy. For seven years she studied and worked under Elizabeth Van Buren, Director of the College of Botanical Healing Arts in California. She completed extensive studies of botany, chemistry, blending therapeutic oils and individualizing the healing approach for each client. During this time she was employed by Elizabeth Van Buren blending customized oils and as an independent aromatherapy healing practitioner. She continues to share this time-honored healing art as an aromatherapist at the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center.
In 1988, Shanti was introduced to the living foods diet. One of her first live-food mentors was Gabriel Cousens, M.D., Founder/Director of the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center, who would become her husband eleven years later. Shanti quickly found the harmony between the practice of yoga and a vegetarian, live-food diet. As a teacher, she expanded her classes to include living foods education and hosted living foods gatherings. She continues as a living foods instructor offering tri-weekly classes on living foods preparation at the Tree of Life. With great generosity, she offers her love through preparing delicious live-food delicacies to nourish body and soul.
Shanti and Gabriel’s partnership embodies the Divine Flow inherent in the “Conscious Living” lifestyle. They inspire those around them to manifest sacred partnership, right livelihood, holistic living and Divine Union. Shanti’s life is dedicated to Divine Devi Consciousness and remaining in the Flow; service is her ultimate expression.
