Anu Tarahum

Anu Tarahum grew up in a small town in Ohio much like Patagonia, surrounded with hundreds of acres of wilderness in all directions. Much of his time in his youth was spent in quiet, deep in the woods exploring and contemplating. After his primary education he attended university for one year in search of his "sacred design." Realizing the financial expense of a formal education, he chose to join the work force as a chef and pursue his passionate interests in the healing arts and music.

Studying herbalism, Ayurveda and acupuncture with enthusiastic intensity through correspondence courses, Anu soon discovered his propensity for healing bodywork. He enrolled in a comprehensive school for medical massage therapy in Cleveland and completed two full-time year-round intensives. The curriculum focused on anatomy and physiology and highlighted Shiatsu, Polarity, Neuromuscular, Myofascial, Cranial sacral, Orthobionomy, Feldenkrais, many Osteopathic techniques, Swedish massage, and other post traumatic and post surgical care. This training gave Anu a wide range of therapeutic tools and experience. After massage school he took a year of retreat, meditation and personal journey that included organic gardening and serving the Dine¹ Tribe as a volunteer worker and healer on the reservation.

Anu experienced a strong calling when he learned of The Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center and the work of Gabriel Cousens, M.D. through the book Spiritual Nutrition & the Rainbow Diet. At the center, Anu became an intimate student of Gabriel's who initiated him in Panchakarma and Reiki as well as helped him see the more subtle aspects of healing and awakening. Anu's own study of Kabbalah, Qigong, and Yoga continues to expand and he derives much of his inspiration from his own practice of meditation and pranayama as well as the Graceful unfolding of his own life and his teacher's presence.

The theme throughout the transformational bodywork that Anu offers is the support and nurturance of the Divine Self.
